As I visited dozens of parks across the U.S. and Canada with my family we were always in search of stickers and apparel to remind us of our expeditions. I begin to notice, however, that many of these items were simply retagged clip art. This bothered me. These trips had real value to us and we wanted to remember them with authentic keepsakes. So I began to make my own. First working with the Creative Action Network and the National Parks Conservation Association and now on my own with Smoky Outfitters I strive to create experience badges with thought and meaning.

Organic and distinctive

I strive to create assets that are both current and unique. The hand-drawn creation process gives the work an organic feel (distinctive in a market dominated by vector graphics). In most cases even the fonts are hand-crafted.

Sustainable Processes

Our screen printed shirts are printed locally with all water-based inks by Green Galaxy. My printing partner does not use plastisol at all. Our preferred blank is the Allmade tri-blend (50% polyester from recycled plastic bottles, 25% organic cotton, 25% Tencel™ Modal).
